What We Do
AchieveMpls is the nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting Minneapolis students. The support we offer takes many shapes, including program management, program support, and additional resources offered to the students, teachers and administrators of the Minneapolis Public Schools.
Programs We Manage AchieveMpls designs and implements programs that meet the most pressing needs of the district while reflecting the vision of donors. We work hard to align district priorities with the goals of stakeholders in public education, meeting each new challenge with an entrepreneurial spirit and results-oriented focus.
Programs We Support AchieveMpls believes that only through ongoing collaboration will the community overcome the myriad challenges of educating and urban population and meeting the needs of Minneapolis Public School students. We provide technological, financial and human resource support to numerous partner programs working to support Minneapolis students.
Resources AchieveMpls serves as an intermediary for individuals, businesses and foundations in our community that wish to support the Minneapolis Public Schools. We work to design a scholarship or grant program that best matches the donor's interests and resources to meet the needs of students, teachers and administrators.

Featured Event – Annual AchieveMpls Luncheon
November 6, 2008
11:30am @ Downtown Minneapolis Radisson
Just two days after the election, which includes an extremely important referendum for the Minneapolis Schools, on November 6th, the leading national expert on gender and education will be in Minneapolis for three important events. Thanks to Comcast, our generous sponsor, we are able to offer an afternoon community forum from 1:30-4:00 PM for free to parents, educators, and community leaders from the Twin Cities. During the forum, Dr. Sax will specifically address how gender is impacting education in our community, and how we can focus particularly on our young men and motivate them to achieve more.

As the new school year gets underway, we are reaching out to the greater Minneapolis community and spreading the word on several exciting upcoming events. On Saturday, November 1st, AchieveMpls will host the first Parent College Tour of the year. We will introduce parents to St. Cloud State University, College of St. Benedict and St. John’s University from 8 AM – 6 PM. Transportation and meals will be provided.
Also happening this fall, we will be accepting applications for the STEP-UP Summer Jobs Program. STEP-UP places Minneapolis youth, aged 14-21 in paid summer jobs with local employers. Students gain work experience, explore career paths, and start building professional networks. Applications will soon be available at www.achievempls.org and are due on January 30, 2008.
